The ProPower Advantage Mechman has taken an entirely different approach in the engineering of our ProPower charging systems. Most of our competitors take an original equipment alternator case and change out the internals for “overwound” or “hotter” components. While this method of rebuilding may produce additional amperage at higher RPMs, it will actually reduce the output at idle speeds. In many cases, an “overwound” alternator will actually produce less current than your stock alternator at idle! Through our 25 years experience, Mechman has solved this problem by developing hundreds of custom brackets and proprietary alternator castings that allow Large Case alternators to be bolted on to vehicles that were originally equipped with smaller alternators. This means that you get the best of both worlds: excellent low RPM output and massive amperage at cruising speed. Larger alternators are also fundamentally more efficient, have more cooling, and will last much longer than small case alternators. Don’t be fooled by on-line imitators; only MechMan can offer Large case conversions for almost any vehicle!!!
