This large case Denso hairpin alternator is a great bolt-in upgrade for DOHC Shelby GT500s. It features twin rectifiers, 12 large press fit diodes, and premium bearings for outstanding durability, far beyond what the original Ford alternator can provide. These units crank out 180+ amps at idle, with a full 250+ amps at vehicle cruising speed! Using a similar sized pulley as stock, you should be able to reuse your factory belt if mileage is below 36,000 depending on if you have not changed other pulleys).
The 6-phase hairpin alternator offers greater idle output and efficiency than your factory 2009-2014 unit. This is a stock replacement alternator for your 09-14 Shelby GT500. Highly recommended if you are running an aftermarket style fuel system with 2+ fuel pumps, larger heat exchanger fans and/or intercooler pumps.

This unit will ship with an OEM sized pulley and this combination is suitable for stock and overdrive balancers. We highly recommend using all the OEM wiring and simply adding at least a 2-gauge power and ground wire from our alternator to your under-hood battery. If you are using a battery that is remounted in the trunk of the vehicle, 0-gauge connection wiring is highly suggested. In some year models, it may be necessary to enlarge the OEM power wire ring terminal hole to facilitate the larger output stud on our alternator.
