This unit features a solid copper positive rectifier plate, with (6) oversize 65 amp press fit diodes for great durability in daily driven applications. Oversize 8mm positive and ground studs make cabling upgrades a snap, while the included 1.75 inch diameter overdrive pulley ensures a solid 140+ amps at engine idle RPM! NOTE: This alternator will require a slightly shorter than stock length belt in most applications. Shorter belts can easily be purchased from your local autoparts store. Mechman GM 240amp alternator

Shipping was extremely quick once a few things were worked. The install was straight forward as I had my questions answered before I pulled the trigger on ordering. The alternator seems to be performing just fine. My recently installed (OEM Style) electric fans are moving a bunch of air and the "battery not charging" message has gone away and has not returned in a couple of weeks of driving. Radio seems "louder" at same volume setting and also crisper, if that is possible. Overall a great investment.

I already did a Big 3 upgrade, so this alternator was basically plug and play. If you didn’t, I highly recommend you do as you’ll need a negative from the battery to the alt anyways. Was a little bit hard to get one side of the alternator in and I was tempted to grind it a little bit, but after 15 minutes I managed to get it in. Bought two smaller belts (next two sizes down) before the alternator came in, and realized after installing that the elevation of the new alternator actually makes it to where I couldn’t fit a smaller belt if I wanted to. The original size is still within limits, though, so I returned the smaller belts. New alternator is surprisingly loud, makes a high pitched hum. I actually kind of like it. Performance is great, it’s at about 154 amps at idle which is higher than the 140 rated stock Delphi alternator. Powers my 3k watt system at idle like a charm. Been installed for a week in my daily now and I love it, highly recommend.
