An incredible upgrade from the OEM Ford based G-series 3 phase alternators! This Denso based large case alternator features 6 phase Hairpin stator technology, twin rectifier plates, and 12 massive diodes for outstanding durability. In diesel applications, this unit can crank out as much as 180+ amps at idle while still maintaining the stock length belt due to Ford Diesel larger OEM crank pulley.
Not only is this a huge amperage upgrade, but you also even get a voltage upgrade. We offer this high output alternator with the style GM 4pin regulator that has proven its durability over the years. We include an easy plug and play harness that will adapt our alternator to the OEM Ford style plug. These harnesses are made in house here and fully crimped, soldered, epoxied and have weatherproof gaskets...just like how the OEM would do it!
Special installation note:
In some applications we have found that there may or may not be a small bolt holding a small metal coolant pipe that will interfere with our alternator sitting flat to its mounting surface. We advise if you encounter this you simply remove the small bolt and leave the bracket in place. When our alternator is installed and bolted down, the bracket is sandwiched in between creating the same retention force (or more) than the OEM small retaining bolt. We do not advise notching or modifying the alternator to create clearance for this bolt due to incorrect tools being used and will necessitate the removal of the alternator in case of a hose replacement situation instead of an easier way of just loosening.

Bought the 240a for my 7.3 Excursion and am very happy with the product. Packaging was great, and instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Ran into a snag on the installation so I called for technical help and they had me straightened up within minutes. Won't hesitate to buy from Mechman again!

240 AMP Alternator Powerstroke 6.0
Wow this thing works as described. In the morning with glow plugs on, headlights on, fog lights on, heater fan on full, stereo on, defroster, everything I could turn on it maintains 14.5v at idle and stays rock steady thought out the rev range. Time will tell as far as longevity goes.

2003 Excursion, fitment note
Great product , not a direct fit for a 2003 Excursion with a 6.0 due to rear heater hose mounting, slight clearance made it fit around small bolt head

The MechMan two year warranty applies to Mechman Alternators sold ON or AFTER 07/13/2011. This limited two year warranty allows the customer to return his or her MechMan alternator for repair for a full two years after the alternator purchase date. This warranty does not cover other parts or equipment on the vehicle, and does not cover labor for removal or installation of the alternator. This warranty is VOID if the MechMan alternator is modified, physically abused, misused, improperly installed, or is not used in the application for which it was designed. The MechMan two year warranty is non-transferrable. The customer must include a copy of the original invoice when sending in their alternator in order to receive warranty service. The customer is responsible for shipping the alternator to the Mechman facility for warranty service, Mechman will pay return shipping back to the customer for all alternators under warranty. As an added service, MechMan will also service any MechMan alternator of any age or condition for the cost of parts and return shipping. (We provide the labor to repair the alternator for free!)
